Let start with Steve Jobs quote” For the past 33 years, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: ‘If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?’ And whenever the answer has been ‘No’ for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something.” It’s very important to ask questions from yourself, it will lead you to the success. Now we will talk about first question.
-
Is it what I want?
Yes, you have to ask yourself this question every day. Satisfaction is an important part of the success. When you will ask this question from yourself you will activate your mind. You need to know what your desire is. In which department or profession you can excel maximum? You want to know about yourself. One day you will find your answer and after that day your goals will become clear and easier. So try to ask this question seriously from yourself before going to sleep. You can ask this question in the morning before leaving your bed. This practice will make you more practical and productive person.
-
Where do I stand in the future?
“Ask yourself this question:
Will this matter one year from now?”
Richard Carlson
It’s not easy to answer this question because you’re going to predict about your future. First ask yourself on behalf of your current status of job, where you will be after 1 month? Where you will be after 6 months? And where you will be after 1 year? Everyone can answer these questions, if you think nothing will improve in this period or improvement is not significant. Than you have to change your routine and your job as well Because 1 year is a long period. Your life is too short for such kind of progress. If you want to be a successful person then your answer of this will not scare you. Add this question in your daily habit to become a charming personality.
-
What is my role in society?
Again Steve Jobs
“Being the richest man in the cemetery doesn’t matter to me. Going to bed at night saying we’ve done something wonderful, that’s what matters to me.”
You need to understand real meaning of success, and then you can answer this question. If you think you have made enough money and it has no concern with your society then you’re not successful. There are many rich persons in this world but we only know those who made great break through. There is no place for you in the list of successful people if you belong to first category. Therefore you need to ask this question from yourself till then your “no” converts into “yes”.
-
Is my present better than past?
This question is kind of justification, but don’t lie with yourself. If you want to escape from this question then you need to understand that your future will be dark. In this modern world everyone is hiding their failures and always they build baseless buildings. You can compare today with yesterday, you can compare this year with last year and similarly your present with your past. By connecting these dots you can understand what the demand of nature is. You can find yourself because you know that in which areas you were strong enough and you achieved milestones. Therefore this is the very important question in this list. Again you need to make answer “yes” in the response of this question.
“The present defines the future. The future builds on the foundation of the past.”
-
Why I’m doing this?
Here is the final question of the day. You need to analyze your current status of life by asking this question. Are you doing this because people want that from you? Or this is your choice? You have no spare time to spend a life which others like. Now if you want a real success then your every second should be on purpose. If you’re spending a life following others then you’re wrong. As I said in the last article going to repeat again you will regret it at the last stage of life. Therefore don’t waste yourself being others favorite. Try to become your favorite. You really need to find answer of this question or you will lose the game.
“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most importantly, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.”
Steve Jobs

Great post, and incredibly thought provoking. It can be hard to ask ourselves these questions, but it really is the way to shining a light on what we tolerate each day.

Excellent post, and really made me think. There’s no way I can do what I want every day: the bills have to be paid somehow…but I’m going to school so that I don’t have to work where I am forever. I keep that in mind and it gets me through the tougher days…

Good questions – but most of the time we are trapped in jobs, mortgages and things we cannot change. It is a privilege to be able to change.
But even so there are ways of operating that are an improvement.
